Based on what I know about Royal Crown Cola bottles and Glenshaw Glass, my guess is that your bottle is from the 1940s. As you mentioned, it should have a lip-letter that will correspond with the date it was made. The 1770 is a bottle style code. The 35 is probably a mold number but definitely not a date code.
