Hi guys i want to get your opinion as I am having some second thoughts. I will be flying MNL to LHR with Stopover Via Qatar Airways. I got an offer to upgrade my MNL to DOHA leg from Economy to Business Class for $360. The luggage allowance will increase from 25kg to 35kg.

1. Re: Basic Economy or Comfort Economy Qatar airlines. THe difference between basic (I assume you mean Lite) and Comfort isnt just seat selection and extra baggage. On seats, Lite means you will be at the back of the plane - its bumpier, slower to get off the plane and so onbut its the same physical seat as any other economy seat.

Now, £990/$1300 for a one-way fare is expensive, I get that. But this fare has a lot going for it: Qatar Airways has arguably the world’s best business class, even when it’s not QSuites. I would earn Avios and generous tier points on a oneworld revenue fare. Now you all know I travel a bit differently to Ben and many other travel bloggers. So if you were planning on treating yourself to business class on a Qatar Airways flight, please do. You won't regret it. If dropping a couple of grand on a flight ticket is not your thing, then you can always take advantage of the business lounge at a small fee if you find yourself in Hamad International Airport for a layover. Virgin’s 10 million-plus Velocity members can now earn Velocity Points and Status Credits for flights operated by Qatar Airways, as well as use points to book flights across all Qatar Airways cabins, including first class and the superb Qsuites business class.
