Yamaha’s FJR1300A in-line four and Honda’s ST1300A V4 were the ‘elder statesmen’ of the bunch, being introduced in 2001 and 2002 respectively. Triumph’s Sprint GT in-line triple arrived at the end of 2010 but is closely related to the first 1050cc Sprint of 2005, while Moto Guzzi’s Norge GT, a transverse 90-degree V-twin, first came
The Concours is a little bigger than the FJR. The instruments on the FJR are alot easier to read than the Concours, but the mirrors are give alot more visibility than the FJR. I've had Ivan flash both of the bikes, and the Concours will walk off from the FJR. Maintenance is easier on the FJR. The FJR (admittedly not perfect in stock form) looks great, sounds like a motorcycle should sound. It's a hundred pounds lighter than the ST and feels two hundred pounds lighter at slow speeds. The FJR's engine is much more responsive and powerful than the ST's although being and inline four it does vibrate a little.consider the FJR could take off from rest in 5th gear there is probably an argument for only having 4 gears. Tank size, here the FJR shits all over the GTR, a standard 450 + km range is pretty good. The ST has 27 litres, the FJR 25 litres - why only 22 litres Kawasaki?
